Ride Cycling Review
RIDE Cycling Review is a title devoted to road and track cycling. Published four times a year, the magazine offers a unique insight into the rigours of professional cycling. With a strong emphasis on the European road season, the release dates are well suited to the major events on the calendar. The January edition offers an overview of the previous season; April includes the early-season races through to the first rounds of the Spring Classics; July's race coverage includes the Giro d'Italia and the major pre-Tour de France events including the Criterium du Dauphine Libere and Tour de Suisse; and October offers reports from the Tour de France and road cycling world championships.
RIDE is published by an independent publishing company in Australia which is owned by Rob Arnold. The founding editor has covered cycling since 1991. In recent years (ie. since 1998) Arnold has been contracted by ASO (organisers of the Tour de France) - to write the English component of the Tour's official website including the live coverage and daily summaries.
Contributors to RIDE include the best cycling photographers and journalists in the world. They are people who are committed to covering one of the most popular sports on the planet. The gusto shown by photographers like Yuzuru Sunada, Bruno Bade as well as award-winning photo agency owners John Pierce (Photosport International) and Jeff Crow (Sport - The Library) mean that RIDE can report on each event on the vast international calendar and portray the intricate aesthetic beauty of the world's biggest races.
Stories by the award-winning publishing editor are well complimented by correspondents from around the world including Frenchman Jean-FranÁois Quenet, Spanish-based American Andy Hood, and a host of other freelancers who ensure the best possible coverage of the racing.
With the help of a vast array of contributors who have a close association with cycling RIDE is able to get intimate profiles of the biggest personalities in the sport as well as comprehensive product reviews.
Regular columnists include the winner of the centenary Tour de France's green jersey Baden Cooke, Olympians Olivia Gollan, Brad McGee, Matt White, Graeme Brown, Cadel Evans, Stuart O'Grady and many more. This cast of contributors allows unprecedented access to the sport's most prominent stars and the ability to get appraisals of the latest products from those in the know.
Each edition includes numerous bike tests, a comprehensive product review section titled 'Paraphernalia', and the ever-popular Caffeine Culture series which offers suggestions on bunch rides in Australia and neighbouring countries.
Printed in a perfect-bound format on high-quality paper and superb reproduction, the magazine is considered by most readers to be a collectable. With up to 200 pages of information, RIDE contains a wealth of reading for cycling enthusiasts everywhere.
